” The hardest step for a runner is the first one out the door.”
Okay how totally true is this?!?! There are countless times when getting out the door is the hardest thing for me to do. I have every excuse in the book…I’ll dilly dally trying to find socks, or procrastinate picking out the right sweatshirt or take forever getting my playlist just right. The reality is the best thing for me to do is just get my butt out the door…and it never fails, once I’m out there I’m happy and I spend the first few minutes wondering why I wasted all that time in the first place.
I think the quote is applicable to lots of goals in life, running goals and otherwise. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is simply get started…but once you do you’ll be happy you did! Here’s to no more excuses, taking those first steps and just getting started!
Happy Motivation Monday!

I’m the same way. I’m so so good at wasting time when I’m headed out on a long run. I can fill a water bottle, decide not to take it, decide between pants, drink some water, eat a waffle…and I tell myself when I have to go by, and then that time will pass. And then when I finish and it’s later in the morning than I wanted it to be I can blame it on myself…but then it repeats again the next week.
