Hi, I’m Caitlin Murphy and I created Fit Fab Cities to share all my favorite things when it comes to being fit and looking fab. I’m a fitness instructor and television fitness/ lifestyle reporter and I love trying and exploring new and fun ways to get in shape. It’s no fun keeping all those fitness finds to myself  so I’m really excited to share all my favorites here on my blog.

I’m also a beauty editor  and proud owner of the largest fashion and style magazine collection known to man. I’m a beauty and style junkie who is always blissfully happy walking the aisles of Sephora looking for the perfect lip gloss and flipping through the new JCrew catalog obsessing over the ballet flats.

I’m excited to share anything and everything from fitness and style to beauty, food and more…things I think make life a little more fit and a little more fab.

So, here is a bit of what you’ll find…

  • workout videos (straight from my classes or when I’m loving at the moment)
  • printable workouts
  • workout playlists
  • reviews: classes, trends, products
  • Motivation Monday quotes and fitspiration
  • tips and more
  • beauty tips and makeup and hair tutorials
  • outfit inspiration
  • must haves
  • things I come across that I just love:)
Fitness and Style Philosophy…
I’m not one of those girls who can survive on lean protein and steamed veggies alone. I love a great cheese pizza and given my devotion to chocolate chip cookies I have a feeling watching Cookie Monster as a kid had a profound effect on me. I like to think of food and fitness as being in balance and moderation. I love being healthy but I also need to have some fun too:)
I strongly believe working out can be fun it’s just about finding something you like do to and that thing will be different for everyone.
When it comes to clothes I love to mix high and low fashions and think you should build your closet with smart investments but also pieces that make you blissfully happy. And as it turns out big statement jewelry, nautical stripes and perfect fitting jeans make me blissfully happy:)

Professional Bio Stuff:

I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Philosophy. I’ve worked as a lifestyle journalist including television reporting, anchoring, hosting and producing, and a beauty editor for HeavenSalon.com. I’ve been a contributing reporter for Channel One News expanding their health and fitness coverage. In fact, you can see some of my stories here…

I’m  also the author of the book Fighting the Freshman Fifteen: How To Lose Weight in College-Or Better Yet Never Put It On. I’ve been featured  in the Seattle P.I., fitsugar.com, alloy.com, gurl.com, Channelone.com, Seattle’s NBC affiliate,  and KOMO 1000 Radio.

  1. Hi Caitlin! I just found your blog through FitSugar’s 40 Minute Treadmill Workout link-I love it! You have the same philosophy as I do when it comes to fitness and fashion! I’ll be visiting much more!

  2. Hey Caitlin!

Wow. Just stumbled upon your blog from a interest post, and I am honestly in heaven. How did I not know about this gem before? I can honestly say already you are one of my favorite blogs.

Plus, it’s awesome that you live in Seattle, because I’m from Washington as well! My brothers both attend UW (well, the older one is graduating in a few days), and while I’m at University of Portland in Oregon, I still am a big Husky. It’s kinda awesome that you’re a big deal (not to quote Anchorman, haha), but typically you expect blogs that are this detailed and well done are from those in California or New York. Way to rep the Pacific Northwest!

  3. Just found your site through another, “Queen of the Kings”. you have a great site here, thanks for all the fitness related info and workouts. I’ll be frequent visitor.

  4. Hi Caitlin!
