Outfit Idea: Bordeaux Skinny Jeans and Silk Blouse For Winter

You know that incredible feeling when you find the holy grail of shopping purchases…the perfect pair of jeans? Well, I think I finally found mine. After an exhaustive search, I picked up this pair of  Joe’s skinny stretch jeans, and they are the perfect mid rise, the right amount of stretch and most importantly, are so comfortable I actually hang around the house in them. To make the purchase even better, I found them on sale at one of my favorite haunts, Nordstrom Rack. Paired with Jcrew’s ideal slik Blythe blouse and, of course, statement jewelry, this is one of my new go to outfits for fall. After all, does it get any better than style and comfort?

  1. JCrew Blythe blouse (dot print is out of stock but if you want polka dots check out this one from Madewell.)
  2. Ann Taylor bracelet (mine is old from JCrew but this one is great)
  3. JCrew necklace( mine is old from H&M but this one from JCrew is on my Christmas list:)
  4. Joe’s Skinny Stretch Jeans in Bordeaux: These are the best jeans I have found if you have a more athletic build. You don’t feel any muffin top and they are totally flattering…a serious win!
  5. Gap Booties (mine are from Gap and out of stock on line but I have seen them in the store)

Everyday Fall Makeup Tutorial

Who doesn’t love the bold, beautiful lips all over the place this fall? Here is a quick video tutorial of the fall makeup look I do everyday. It’s superfast and easy and looks polished enough for the office and pretty enough for a date. If you add a swipe of smokey shadow and intensify the eyeliner this look can even work for a night out.

My Tarte cheek stain in Flush and Revlon color stain balm in Smitten are in heavy rotation right now because they are so simple to use and create the perfect dewy color. Hope you like!

Outfit Idea: Navy Blazer and Boyfriend Jeans

Jeans Gap,  Blazer JCrew, Top is Madewell (similar), Boots JCrew (old)

Do you ever have those outfits that feature all of your favorite things? Well this is one of those outfits for me. I’m obsessed with boyfriend jeans this fall, they are so comfortable and look great dressed up with heels and a blouse or casual for the weekend with loafers. I would totally recommend adding a pair to you closet! I love getting a good deal on a trend, so this pair of boyfriends is from the Gap. They run a little big, (order a size down)  but the fit is great and look as good as the expensive versions.  I like to play with proportion so  I added the shrunken schoolboy blazer and the silk blouse gives it a nice masculine versus feminine twist. Truth is, I love a good preppy nod, so I wear this blazer with just about everything!

Fall Must Have Shoes: Statement Loafers

Don’t get me wrong, I live for summer, but when the weather starts to change and I feel that chill in the air, I start looking forward to fall. The pumpkin spice lattes, colorful leaves, family holidays and especially the fall fashion. I love the thick September issues of InStyle and Lucky and I start planning my fall shopping… this year one of my must haves is the loafer.

My Mom has worn Stubbs and Wooten loafers for as long as I can remember, and I love their preppy Palm Beach esthetic. I can’t really justify the $400 price tag, so I love that stores like the Gap and Nine West are doing an affordable interpretations (you can also pick up Stubbs and Wooten for JCrew if you like). I picked up the polka dot Gap loafers the other day and the studded Steve Maddens will be my next purchase. This style is really versatile, depending on the fabric you choose, loafers can go with a a great skirt and blouse for work, an LBD for evening and skinny jeans and a sweater for the weekend. Plus I love that they are practical enough to make running errands and being on your feet all day both achievable and stylish! ”If you’re priority is comfort and you’re on your feet all day, make sure you take a look at these comfortable shoes from Simply Feet.

  2. polka dot calf hair loafers ($49, Gap)
  3. stubbs and wooten blue velvet loafers (jcrew, $400)

Gotta Have Bright Jeans: Splurge versus Steal

I really can’t get enough of bright colors when spring and summer roll around. I love bold decorative pillows on the couch, bright statement necklaces, and all the great color in clothing this season…especially the bright jeans! I’m at heart, a jeans a t-shirt girl, so the opportunity to jazz up my go to look is very exciting. Tons of celebs including Cameron Diaz, Kate an Pippa Middleton, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rachel Bilson, just to name a few, are loving the look of colored jeans lately. On a recent trip to JCrew I couldn’t get enough of the candy colored denim adorning the shelves. You can pair them with everything from a silk blouse and nude heels for a sophistacted look to chambray shirt and flats for something more laid back. With my penchant for deals I had to do a splurge verusus steal so you know you can rock this trend no matter your budget. And by the way, I have to say the Old Navy Rockstar skinny jeans come in tons of different colors and are my favorite go to jeans in my closet. The fit is amazing, nice rise,  stretchy and comfortable and perfect for ladies (like myself) who have a bit of a booty and athletic legs:) Plus, they are under $35!!! SO weather you want a splurge or steal, this is a really fun and fashionable way to wear jeans so I totally recommend picking up a pair for spring!
